Why is the Xbox version planned later than PC and PlayStation 5?
Will Enshrouded launch on all platforms at the same time?
Is Enshrouded available on Xbox?
Enshrouded is not yet confirmed as available on Xbox. Keen Games announced that the Xbox Series X|S version is planned for spring 2027, while the 1.0 release was announced for October 15 on PC and PlayStation 5.
The Xbox version is therefore scheduled later than the PC and PlayStation 5 release. The announced spring 2027 window is a plan, not a confirmed launch date.
Why the Xbox version is planned for later
Keen Games said the Xbox version needs additional time to reach the quality and performance the team expects. CEO Jan Jöckel explained that the studio did not want to rush a platform release or compromise on quality.
Jöckel also said the team aimed to launch the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S editions at the same time, but bringing the game’s complex systems, including large-scale terraforming and building, to two console platforms simultaneously proved more demanding than anticipated. Rather than rush, the team chose to focus on getting each version right.
The developer also stated that development of the Xbox version is progressing steadily.
Announced platform timing at a glance
The announced timing differs by platform: PC and PlayStation 5 were given an October 15 date for the 1.0 release, while Xbox Series X|S was given a spring 2027 window.
| Platform | Announced timing |
|---|---|
| PC (Steam) | October 15, alongside the 1.0 release |
| PlayStation 5 | October 15, alongside the 1.0 release |
| Xbox Series X|S | Spring 2027 |
What Keen Games said about a simultaneous launch
Keen Games stated its intention to launch Enshrouded 1.0 and its new content simultaneously across PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. That goal was not met for Xbox, as the Xbox version is now planned for spring 2027.
The stated reason is the extra time needed to meet the team’s quality and performance expectations on Xbox.
